Pulled from the legendary Schumacher archives—whose century-spanning legacy includes iconic collaborators and clients such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Edith Wharton, Saul Steinberg, Cecil Beaton, and Paul Poiret—the collection offers a fresh take on historical designs. 

From a monumental panel set, reenvisioned on a larger scale and with new architectural detailing and a striking metallic finish to a modern take on a toile based on the gestural line drawings of illustrator John Groth, each design has been infused with a sense of artfulness and personality. The collection retains the gestural qualities of the originals with a rich surface texture and added hand-drawn, hand-painted elements created in Backdrop’s Downtown Los Angeles design studio.
